Learning the basic skills and camera settings for photographing Aurora Borealis, the northern lights. An instructive presentation on how to capture them will be held at Tajukangas lavvu by bonfire with a guide. He will walk you through the settings of your camera and give helpful tips while the auroras might blazing in the sky.
Bliss guide will wait for the clients at the CAMP Kitchen & Bar. After meet and greet, the guide will take the clients to Tajukangas, which is a mere 10 minute walk away. Once the group arrives to the venue, guide will do a short presentation about northern lights and basic camera settings. The guide will help the clients to set up the cameras so that everyone is ready to start shooting once the auroras present themselves!
A helpful “Capturing Auroras” pocket-sized guide will be handed to all the participants.
There will be hot berry juice available for all of the photographers.
Suitable personal clothing for winter weather including warm boots, hat and gloves or mittens. Complimentary hot berry beverages included.

Entry-level overnight snowshoe tour to Rykimäkuru Gorge and beyond in Pyhä-Luosto National Park. A qualified wilderness & snowshoeing guide will lead the tour and share his/her knowledge about the surrounding nature and wilderness travel tradition. Snowshoers will pull not-so-heavy ahkio sled (also called often pulka) for their personal equipment, which adds the right kind of spirit (and therefore, a day backpack is not necessary for this tour).
Snowshoers will spend a night in a cosy and warm wilderness hut. In the evening you can experience a real wood heated Finnish sauna (including a rolling-in-snow option). Aftewards you may fall asleep letting the mind-calming silence sinking in.
This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of more challenging multi-day snowshoe tours in the wilderness: snowshoeing technique & strategy, packing the sled, the daily maintenance routine, weather factor, etc. During the snowshoe tour you may also practice various Arctic skills with the Bliss guide: navigation in Taiga forest, use of the tradit puukko knife, fire making in snowy environment, wilderness cooking methods, and so on.

Participants must arrive prepared with suitable clothing for cold winter weather. Layers required. A detailed clothing and equipment list will be sent to you when you book your trip. Don’t forget your camera at home, since snowshoer tends to get to gorgeous places rarely seen people on foot or by car.
Snowshoeing is an entry-level activity regarding the technical difficulty and the physical challenge of it. To walk on snowshoes is very easy, no previous experience will be required. However, a certain level of fitness and right attitude is a must. Both days the snowshoe tour will be customized to fit the group's stamina and ambitions.
The day before a snowshoe tour briefing will be held either at the CAMP Kitchen & Bar Pyhä or at the Lapland Hotels Luostotunturi at 19:30. A Bliss guide will check the clients' clothing and the other possible personal equipment for the tour (if clothing or shoes not fully suitable for the activity, the Bliss guide will search a local rental solutions). OPTIONAL: Capturing Auroras photography workshop at 20:00, giving the participants useful photo skills for the rest of their stay in Lapland (not included in the price).
Snowshoeing truly opens the snow-blanketed wilderness for fun and safe exploring. Snowshoes simply take one to places which would not be possible to reach without them.

Meet your ice climbing guide at the meeting point in Pyhä, get equipped, hike only 10 minutes and get the ice climbing going at the Tajukangas Ice Fall. The Bliss Adventure guide will instruct you the proper ice climbing technique. Then it's your turn to show some adventurous spirit and determination. Whack your axes in the ice and climb up!
By the Tajukangas ice climbing shrine you will enjoy not only climbing in beautiful environment but also a bonfire and some hot berry beverages keeping you warm during the little breaks. All the climbers will get two proper climbs up the ice wall reaching above 20 meters. The higher you climb the better the views get!
Suitable for anyone somewhat moderately fit. If you can enjoy a brisk walk you can enjoy ice climbing, too.

Please also bring a balaclava or a simple woolen hat without bobble / pompom that will fit under climbing helmet. Complimentary hot berry beverages included. Please consider bringing some snacks like nuts, energy bars or chocolate (caution: keep chocolate in a pocket inside of your jacket, otherwise it will freeze).
The Try Ice Climbing lasts 2,5 hours. No previous experience is needed. A basic level of fitness is needed to enjoy the ice climbing. You will have a chance of trying 2 lines depending on your stamina.
Minimum age of 12 years old (flexible, depends on child’s development, can be discussed with parents). Smaller children can do the Kid's Ice Climbing Adventure simultaneously.
Pyhä is located a 1,5 hour car drive from Rovaniemi, the closest international airport (RVN) and and Santa Claus’ headquarters. The comfortable bus ride to Hotel Pyhätunturi takes 2 hours. You may find the winter bus timetable here.
