More details about fatbiking
Fatbike has become popular during the last couple of years for a handful of good reasons. First of all, fatbike makes arguably the best allrounder-bicycle ever. It serves the rider loyally all year through, may it be about sandy or rocky summer trails or snowy winter tracks. Due to its chubby appearance, one could assume it is heavy to pedal and clumsy to handle but the truth is the other way around. This fat buddy is agile and runs effortlessly on its wide tyres, that offer a lot of grip also on any surface, making the riding both fun and safe.
Fatbikes come with a good variety of frame sizes, so everyone between the height of 145 cm to 210 cm can expect to find a suitable ride. We use high-quality cycling helmets for safety. Any pair shoes suitable for a proper walk will work well in fatbiking, too. Our fatbike fleet consists of bicycles of high standard by manufacturers like Mondraker, Kona, and Felt. Some smaller size bikes are by White, a manufacturer known for good value.
Bliss Adventure’s summer 2018 fatbike services are available in two destinations: Vallisaari Island in Helsinki Archipelago, by the south coast of Finland, and in Pyhä–Luosto area in Finnish Lapland, well above the Arctic Circle. In Vallisaari the fatbike services are available from mid-May until September, in Pyhä–Luosto from mid-June until October. Please see our online store’s availability calendar for further information.
Vallisaari and Kuninkaansaari Islands in Helsinki Archipelago, Finland?
Vallisaari Island and Kuninkaansaari Island make an unique duo for a destination in so many ways. These islands are connected with each other and they are located just a mere 20-minute mini cruise away from the Market Square of Helsinki, the capital. Islands treat the visitor with the richest nature’s diversity in the whole of Finland. Just the number of butterfly species counts in hundreds! These islands are filled not only with the refreshing breeze from the Baltic Sea but also with stories worth sharing!
Geography or the Vallisaari & Kuninkaansaari Islands are rather compact and the uphills are gentle. This makes it possible to reach a genuine experience in a short time, and also for the less sportive visitor. Recommended for the slightly adventurous families, too!?
Pyhä–Luosto area in Lapland, Finland
